Health & Human Right's Conference Report

"Public Health in Regions of War and Political Conflict"

Conference Report 2007

The 10th Annual Health and Human Rights Conference is proud to launch the inaugural “Health and Human Rights Conference Report”. An annual commemorative tradition for years to come, we hope that the Conference Report will continue to highlight and showcase the distinguished speakers, the unique health related themes and perspectives and express the overall conference atmosphere.

If you were in attendance last year, we hope that the 2007 Conference Report will take you down memory lane and help you revisit the keystones of “Public Health in Regions of War and Political Conflict.” If you were not able to join us, we hope that you, too, can experience the unique lectures, the thought-provoking and inspiring presentations and the informative and engaging NGO Fair. Complete with discussion panels and a photo exhibition, the 2007 conference presented a thorough learning experience- a feat we have tried to capture in this inaugural Conference Report.

Additionally, while the platform of the Health and Human Rights Conference is to engage and encourage discussion between students, faculty and professionals, we also believe strongly in fostering relationships and strengthening student networks, particularly those that are health related. It is our pleasure to announce the Health and Human Rights Conference partnership with Juxtaposition-a student-run global health magazine at UofT towards the production of this Conference Report. This report would not have been possible without the collective collaboration from both organizations and has truly paved the way for a stronger cross linking of ideas and creative channeling for the future. We would like to take this time to thank Shane Wong and Manisha Pahwa of Juxtaposition along with their design and editorial team for all their hard work, feedback and support of the Conference Report.
